Welcome to Kunshan, China: Sun's latest expansion in Asia-Pacific
Sun Hydraulics has announced the opening of its newest manufacturing plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China.
This new 38,750 square-foot (3.600 square-meter) facility increases Sun’s capacity in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to better serve its local customers. Initially, this factory will perform assembly and test for a selected range of products sold in the region. Over the next few years, we plan to further ramp up the value-added manufacturing within this facility for our regional customers.
“With today’s opening of the Kunshan facility, Helios Technologies has made its third significant investment in the Asia-Pacific region over the past 12 months,” stated Wolfgang Dangel, CEO of Helios Technologies, Sun Hydraulics’ parent company. Previous investments in the region included a new, larger manufacturing operation in Incheon, South Korea, and the acquisition of Custom Fluidpower based in Australia. “This investment is in alignment with the Helios strategy and our goal to realize our 2025 Vision. We expect continued strong growth in the APAC region and look forward to supplying a range of Sun products from this new facility.”
Raj Menon, President of Sun Hydraulics, recognized those who worked on the project. “I am excited about the supply of our world-leading Sun products from our new plant in China. I congratulate the Sun team, in China and from the U.S., for their hard work and dedication required to complete the plant on schedule.”
Sun Hydraulics maintains a global manufacturing footprint, with three facilities in the Americas, two in Europe and now three in Asia-Pacific.
